This week’s Culturally Curious Hop takes us to 1-54 Art Fair at Somerset House—the leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary African art and its diaspora. Named after the 54 countries that comprise Africa, this year sees more than 160 artists, 60 galleries, and 23 countries, with a strong representation from the African continent and the Global South, including Ghana, Morocco, and Brazil.

We catch up with Touria El Glaoui, Founder and Fair Director of 1-54, Karon Hepburn, Contemporary African Art Specialist, and artists Freya Bramble-Carter, Ashley January, and Dola Posh.

📅 On view until 13 October.
