East meets West.

For this week’s Culturally Curious Hop, The Wick met curator Dr. Sushma Jansari at ‘Ancient India: Living Traditions’ inside The British Museum.

The British Museum, under the directorship of Dr. Nicholas Cullinan OBE, creates a collaborative exhibition that draws from the South Asian collection at the British Museum as well as generous loans from national and international partners to create a dialogue between different cultures to foster collaboration.

‘Ancient India: Living Traditions’ explores the transformation of sacred art from symbolic forms to the iconic human images we recognise today across Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, which affects nearly two billion people.

Featuring over 180 objects, the exhibition highlights the rich cultural and spiritual heritage that continues to influence nearly two billion people worldwide.

On view 22 May – 19 October.
