Design Uncovered: Exploring New Cultural Identities and New Narratives.

The Wick had the pleasure of hosting an in-conversation between the Co-Founder of the atelier and studio Cox London, Chris Cox and Suhair Khan, Co-Founder of open-ended design, a platform for interdisciplinary technology moderated by the founder of The Wick, Katy Wickremesinghe. With the backdrop of Somerset House, in the Collect art fair’s VIP lounge, they explored themes of craft, cultural collaboration, design and making. Investigating through objects, they uncovered new narratives and cultural identities.

Design Uncovered saw a focus on Collect Selects, where Fair Director Isobel Dennis chose a number of objects from international market makers, including Pakistan, Korea, Uganda and Britain.

Collect is the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design. At a time when the contemporary craft has never been more sought after, Collect is a unique time to browse 40 specialist galleries representing over 400 global artists and makers.
