The Guerrilla Girls have been fighting against sexism, racism and wealth inequality within the arts and culture for more than 25 years. The group of anonymous artist-activists first came to prominence in 1985 when they launched a poster campaign that targeted museums, dealers, curators, critics and artists who they felt were actively responsible for, or complicit in, the exclusion of women and non-white artists from mainstream exhibitions and publications. Since then, they have protested, performed, taught and exhibited in museums and institutions around the world, including Tate Modern in London and the MoMa in New York. This limited-edition cotton tea towel features one of the 30 posters published in the 1985 poster campaign. What better way to commemorate the fight for equality?
