Be A Bit More Like Sean Scully T-shirt by Magda Archer
£35

Make a sartorial statement with this unisex t-shirt designed exclusively for House of Voltaire by Magda Archer, the London-based artist known for her work fusing nostalgic images and contemporary turns of phrase. Printed in London by Fifth Column, the original designers and printers of popular punk t-shirts in the 1970s, it features a beret-wearing artist painting a canvas and the slogan ‘Be A Bit More Like Sean Scully.’ Archer was struck by Scully’s character after watching a documentary about him and has since described the artist as a ‘force of nature’. Why? Because he forged his own path. Scully made his name in the 1970s and 80s creating abstract works when the trend for figurative Neo-Expressionism prevailed.
