Object Ugg x Tschabalala Self Contrast Heel Boot
Y2K style may be experiencing a resurgence at the moment, but Ugg’s current popularity isn’t tied to the beloved shearling boots worn by Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in the early 2000s. The American footwear brand has been making a splash recently with a number of exciting and cross-creative collaborations, working with the likes of Telfar, the late editor André Leon Talley and Eckhaus Latta. Now, the label has teamed up with Tschabalala Self, a Harlem-born artist whose cross-disciplinary work explores ideas about the body through different craft traditions, to create a special collection of avant garde, tactical design. Inspired by her experimental play, Sounding Board and the geometric style of her paintings, this high-heeled suede boot uses contrasting colours and long lines to create an aesthetic that is simultaneously retro and contemporary.
