Viewing Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style

Opening at Buckingham Palace this week, Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style turns the late Queen’s wardrobe into a portrait of British fashion across a century. Bringing together around 200 items – with around half on display for the first time – the exhibition moves from couture eveningwear and diplomatic dressing to the practical off-duty pieces that became part of her instantly recognisable image. With contributions from ERDEM, Richard Quinn and Christopher Kane, the exhibition makes a broader point about influence: not simply what the Queen wore, but how her style continues to shape British fashion today.
