WHAT’S THE STITCH?

Excited to bring you our new short film series “The Stitch” in which we bring you into a world celebrating arts, culture and creativity in all its forms at The Wick. The Stitch celebrates the interconnectedness of those forms, their subtle layers and conversations and quite literally – how art is stitched into our daily lives.

Following on from our interviews with curator Kate Bryan and artist Sarah Maple at Jealous Gallery and Chief Executive Design Museum London, Tim Marlow, our next film celebrates, ‘Once Upon a Turquoise Past’ the new exhibition from renowned photographer and author Maryam Eisler at LINLEY London.

London-based, Iran-born Eisler has brought a touch of magic to the Linley flagship in Belgravia – renowned for combining singular design with time-tested craftsmanship. Through this innovative exhibition, Eisler mixes history, rich cultural references and magical nostalgia to create a vibrant and textured body of work from Leighton House Museum in London. Curated by art historian Carrie Scott, The Wick was excited to get a preview into this fascinating world with Maryam Eisler, Carrie Scott and David Linley.

‘Once upon a Turquoise Past’ is on show at Linley until 30 November 2021.

The Wick is a cultural content platform and hub on a mission to connect the culturally curious and share some of the human journeys and stories of the art world, whilst celebrating the very real and important ways in which art stitches into our daily lives. Whether you are an art world professional or a culturally curious explorer, we hope that this channel connects, educates and inspires you.
