Viewing Bathers

Summer is coming, so unearth that swimsuit and be ready to lounge in the sun because this week, Saatchi Yates unveils their blockbuster exhibition, ‘Bathers’. Opening today at their new space on Bury Street, the show pays homage to the enduring fascination with the bathing figure, which has long captivated artists from classical antiquity to the present day. The exhibition showcases a diverse collection of artwork by esteemed artists both from art history and today.

Witness a historical moment as ‘Bathers’ explores the intertwining themes of landscape and the nude, offering a unique perspective on the human condition. The show features an array of contemporary artworks alongside renowned Post-War and Historical Masterpieces. From Paul Cezanne, J. M. W. Turner, and Pablo Picasso to prominent contemporary artists such as Hurvin Anderson, Peter Doig, and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, the exhibition is a tapestry of artistic expression reflecting the breadth and diversity of the theme. Toying with the connotations of the nude, both as biblical innocence and human lust, guilt and death, this exhibition evokes a flurry of emotion and is not to be missed. So join the crowds and head to Bury Street this weekend for a historical union where modern masters bathe in the presence of historical game changers.
