Viewing Billy Childish ‘looking at paintings’

Hop on a train to Margate to see the new body of work by Billy Childish currently on display at Carl Freedman Gallery. Childish’s practice, which spans painting, woodcut, poetry, writing, and music, exudes an honesty and curiosity that resonates deeply with his audience.

Drawing on a wide range of inspirations, such as personal struggles and the mystery of nature, Childish explores such diverse themes as war, the history and geography of his local surroundings, social activism, trekking, and religious philosophy. He pursues these subjects with relentless passion, constantly seeking to uncover new insights and perspectives on what it means to be alive. A summer’s day out in Margate is calling!
