Viewing ‘On The Other Hand’, Canary Wharf

In the shimmery environs of Canary Wharf, the curators at Brooke Bennington are devoting time and space to everyday mundane and discarded objects inviting 15 artists to create works for On the Other Hand Show. The installations dotted around the area create a mystery trail.

The works include an elegant column sculpture, A Bend in the Thames by Simon Linington which is made from material from local building projects along the Thames; Amy Stephens has responded to the iconic architecture of One Canada Square while Victor Seaward’s sculpted anthropomorphic fruit sculptures hang from trees and offer up moments of glee. The bold forms make for arresting viewing in the piazzas and walkways of the area and throw a light on urban development and the human hand.
