Viewing PAD London

For the design crowd, PAD’s London edition is the go-to: founded in 2007 by Parisian antique dealer Patrick Perrin, the fair is the sole event of its kind in the UK dedicated exclusively to 20th century and contemporary design, presenting pieces by some of the world’s leading galleries.

Top of our list is a visit to PEREIRA & MATIS gallery to see a showcase of contemporary designers from the Brazilian scene, including Juliana Vasconcellos and Tiago Braga. We can’t wait to see new pieces such as the Arandu Estelar series, inspired by the organic shapes of clouds and the worldview of the Guarani indigenous people – it’s made up of more than 300 petals crafted from pure wool, felted and handsewn – renewable and biodegradable natural resources as well as aesthetically compelling.

Closer to home, we’re anticipating a stellar presentation from Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, who revealed their debut collection of furniture, lighting and objects last year. The London and NYC-based studio is renowned for its timeless custom designs found in homes, hotels, restaurants, and bars worldwide. Working with a number of exceptional makers, craftspeople and artists – many of whom are from his native Ireland – the result is a dynamic collection with collaborative works, limited-editions and one-of-a-kind pieces.
