Viewing Vik Muniz: FOTOCUBISMO

Hurry over to Brook’s Mews, Mayfair to see ‘FOTOCUBISMO’ by Vik Muniz, hung across Ben Brown Fine Arts and Claridge’s ArtSpace. Inspired by the works of Cubist masters Pablo Picasso, Georges Braques, and Juan Gris the exhibition sees works from Muniz’s ‘Surfaces’ series, displayed in the UK for the first time. As ever, Muniz explores perception, reality, and representation by layering painting and collaged components to creates a hybrid technique that invites viewers to question what’s beyond the surface and discover the underlying interventions.

For Muniz, his work exists in “a place between the world of things and the world of ideas that enjoys its own constant energy and is in permanent and vibrant evolution.” So why not journey into Muniz’s world and discover the limitless possibilities and questions that arise from constructing a photographic image.
