Art at the docks.

Cph Art Space returns to Copenhagen with a weekend event at Terminal 13, formerly known as Docken, in Nordhavn. Set in an industrial building once used as a salt warehouse, the fair swaps the usual, white-walled booth and deploys the architecture to frame the works.

The rawness of Copenhagen’s harbour edge adds a frisson to the myriad of works on sale spanning painting, ceramics, sculpture, drawing and photography. Hunt down Jeanette Elmelund, Karin Bach, Jimmy Edvardsen, Mølby-Art, Carina Kjaer and David Engstrøm, with practices ranging from naturalistic painting and cityscapes to bronze sculpture and calligraphy.

It is refreshing to witness a rethink on the familiar fair machinery and the harbour light is worth a trip in itself.
